Amount$175,000.00

Case Description - Plaintiff received $175,000 in the wrongful death lawsuit of a father she'd never met.

Eddie Washington was riding in Charles Johnson's car in March 2007. When the two were near 39th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, an officer saw Johnson run a red light and drive erratically.

The officer turned on her lights, but Johnson refused to stop. While speeding away from the officer, Johnson ran a stop sign at 43rd Street and Garfield Avenue. Another vehicle crashed into Johnson's, severely injuring Washington. Washington later died from the injuries he sustained.

When her father died, then 2-year-old Olivia Ware was living in Texas. At trial, our firm argued that the accident took away any hope Olivia ever had of forming a relationship with her father.

The judge ultimately awarded more than three times the plaintiff's pretrial demand of $50,000.
